Production Manager – Outokumpu Degerfors

Outokumpu in Degerfors is now looking for a Production Manager for Betline & Finishing, who wants to lead and develop our production processes with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

About the position

As the Production Manager for Betline & Finishing, you will have operational responsibility for the operations of these production sections:

• Betline – where our products are blasted, acid-treated, and inspected to ensure the right quality.
• Finishing – where products undergo thorough inspection, possible grinding, marking, packing, and packaging according to customer specifications.
• Neutralization – where process water and materials from the pickling process are neutralized.

You will lead and develop your team to ensure stable production while driving continuous improvements – both in daily operations and in investment projects. By your side, you have a production engineer who supports you by planning and distributing tasks, coordinating production, and participating in various projects. The production engineer also acts as your substitute when needed, providing you with strong support in leadership.

You will collaborate with other departments to optimize production flow, minimize operational disruptions, and develop the product portfolio. Additionally, you will work closely with other production managers in the production management group and report to the production manager.

This is a full-time position based in Degerfors.

Your responsibilities

• Lead and develop production in Betline & Finishing with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Be responsible for leading and distributing work for direct reports.
• Collaborate with the production engineer to ensure a smooth production process.
• Follow up and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
• Drive and participate in investment and improvement projects related to production processes and working environment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize production flow and minimize operational disruptions.
• Coach and develop employees to strengthen skills and engagement within the team. You play a vital role in building the right team with the right skills while ensuring diversity and future recruitment needs.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has:

• Leadership experience in the industry, preferably in a production or maintenance environment. You do not necessarily need to have formal personnel responsibility today, but we value strong leadership qualities. Perhaps you are currently leading projects or teams and want to take the next step in your career.
• Engineering education in a relevant field such as industrial, production, or mechanical engineering – or equivalent experience that makes you well-suited for the role.
• Structured and goal-oriented approach, with good analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and experience in leading and developing teams, focusing on collaboration and engagement.
• Experience in improvement work and Lean is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
